The Client

North Slope Borough, Alaska.

 

The Project

The North Slope Borough encompasses 89,000 square miles of Arctic territory at the top of Alaska. It is the largest geographical area in the world. The Borough retained RCC Consultants to assist in upgrading several communications systems, which will help connect multiple remote villages to Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost city in the United States.

 

RCC's Role

RCC provided many important services for the North Slope Borough during these projects, including:

 

• Assessed communications needs and provided path-forward solutions for:
  - Dispatch Facility Upgrade
  - Radio Replacement    
  - Paging System
  - Satellite Reconfiguration (Push to Talk Dispatch)
  - E9-1-1 Equipment
  - Video Security Telephone Upgrade

• Prepared technical specification for both head-end equipment and satellite transport for video teleconferencing for Health and Social Services

• Provided procurement support,implementation oversight and acceptance testing for video teleconferencing
