WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ANNOUNCES THAT 800 MHZ BAND RECONFIGURATION WILL COMMENCE JUNE 27, 2005

Today, the FCC announced that announce that the 800 MHz band reconfiguration process for non-NPSPAC channels will start June 27, 2005, in the NPSPAC regions assigned to Wave 1. This means that the three month period for voluntary negotiations with FCC will end September 26, 2005. At that time, a manditory negotiation period will commence and end on December 26, 2005.

This is an extremely critical time period for all non-NPSPAC channel licensses assigned to Wave 1. By being properly prepared for negotiations, you can help ensure that you minimize the rebanding risks that RCC has identified in our Rebanding Risks white paper.

The full text of the FCC announcement can be found here.

Please feel free to send an email to rebandingsupport@rcc.com or call 732-404-2400 for more information on preparing for negotiations with Nextel. In addition, more information can be found at www.rcc.com/rebanding .
