Rebanding Guidance From Transition Authority

The T.A. recently came out with several new information guides to help licencees through the 800MHZ Rebanding process. Copies of the Rebanding Guide and Rebanding Handbook can be found in the Resources section of the RCC Rebanding Website (www.rcc.com/rebanding)

RCC is currently reviewing these documents in great detail and will have more to say on the contents soon. Check back often!!!!

Heads Up, Expansion Band Licensees!!

In the Reconfiguration Handbook created by the Transition Administrator a new rule was established for Expansion Band Licensees. "Public Safety Systems currently operating in the newly created 'Expansion Band" at 815-816MHz/860-861 MHz WILL BE RELOCATED unless they elect otherwise."

This means that if you would like to stay, you must let Nextel and the T.A. know. Please feel free to contact RCC at rebandingsupport@rcc.com for more information on what you need to do.

Wave 1 Licensees (Lower 120 Channels) Look Out!!!!

Stage 1, Wave 1 Licensees (lower 120 channels) should be on the look out for an information packet from the TA. On or about April 15th, the TA will send out an information packet that will request the following information:

* Key Contacts: administrative, technical, and legal
* Verification of call signs

A second release of the licensee information packet will be made in "late May/early June". Presumably the second release will indicate channel allocations.

If you are a Wave 1 Licensee and you haven't yet started planning yet, time is of the essence!!!! At a minimum, you need to have a strategy and plan for the rebanding process. Remember the saying "Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail!!" Please feel free to contact RCC at rebandingsupport@rcc.com for more information on what you need to do.
