800 MHz T.A. Quarterly Report
The 800 MHz Transition Authority released its Quarterly Report of the quarter ending 9/30/05. A copy of the Quarterly Report can be downloaded here.
The report contains much interesting information as to the status of the 800 MHz Rebanding, including the following (as of 9/30/05 unless otherwise stated):
- TA believes that there will be a significant number of incomplete agreements at the end of Wave 1 mandatory negotiation period;
- The parties to those incomplete agreements will be sent to alternative dispute resolution commencing on or after 12/26/05;
- 36 public safety licensees (very few) have elected to stay in the Expansion Band;
- 42 requests for planning funding were received by Sprint Nextel of which one has been submitted to the TA and approved;
- The TA has been working with Sprint Nextel to finalize the Standard Bid Package, which is designed to assist municipal licensees with the bidding process to select vendors to provide reconfiguration services;
- Rebanding agreements cover a total of $1,851,223 in costs of which $420,968 has been paid;
- Sprint Nextel has incurred approximately $325 million in internal costs;
- TA fees to 9/30/05 are $20,823,214; and
- TA expenses to 9/30/05 are $1,138,612.
