"It Starts Today!"
Well, the 800MHz Rebanding process officially began today! Those of you that are in Wave 1 should have previously received an information package from the Transition Administrator. Many of you have already begun to receive the promised Frequency Proposal Reports.
At RCC, our many of our Wave 1 clients have already received their report. Those that haven't we anticipate them receiving them shortly.
As noted in many documents (including the Frequency Proposal Reports), the FCC has mandated that reconfiguring licensees are entitled to receive comparable facilities. Be aware, as stated by the Transition Administrator, "Licensees are responsible for determining whether the proposed frequency(ies) are comparable to their existing frequency(ies)" Neither Nextel OR the Transition Administrator is responsible.
The T.A. has also stated " You may use a qualified expert to assist in making the determination" of whether the proposed frequency(ies) are comparable.
RCC recommends that you contact such qualified experts to begin the process of determining comparable facilities BEFORE you talk with Nextel. Please feel free to contact us at reband@rcc.com or 732-404-2400 for more information on how RCC can assist you through the rebanding process.
