capabilities to include: radio/wireless systems, dispatch centers, telephone systems, mobile data

Radio/Wireless Systems
RCC has executed detailed needs analyses, engineered systems, developed request for
proposal specification, evaluated vendor proposals, assisted clients with contract
negotiations, and managed the implementation of both conventional and
trunked radio systems. We are the premier firm in this field. RCC engineers
keep up to date with the latest advancements in radio/wireless
technologies and have the specialized tools necessary to design and
analyze the systems that utility companies require. RCC developed and
maintains its own software tools such as ComSiteDesign,
which is used to analyze radio system coverage. While we use these
tools for our own engineering work, we also make them
available to our clients under licensing agreements.
Dispatch Centers
RCC has worked with the design and operation of
dispatch centers and has an in-depth understanding
of the issues associated with these service
facilities. Whether a dispatch center is to be
used to support customer service or
construction fleets, RCC has extensive
experience in these environments and,
therefore, understands the associated
unique organizational, operational
and technical issues and problems.
Telephone
Systems
RCC has designed and specified
administrative/business telephone
systems, automated attendant and voice
mail functionality to support customer
service and emergency dispatch operations.
Mobile Data Systems
RCC has worked with several companies to augment their customer service and information handling capabilities through the use of mobile data systems to support a range of user devices including simple status message terminals, mobile data terminals, full function laptop/notebook computers and remote reading units.
Computer Systems
The necessity for rapid and efficient access to information has expanded across utility company operations to encompass
customer service and construction field operations. RCC has worked with our clients to procure Computer Aided Dispatch
Systems and integrate them with LANs/WANs and other internal systems such as Customer Information, Engineering
Drawings, Engineering Field Procedures, etc. RCC has conducted detailed needs analyses, developed request for proposal
specifications, evaluated vendor proposals, assisted clients with contract negotiations, and managed the implementation of
the selected systems.
Facility
Management/Outsourcing
More and more utilities are turning to facility management and
outsourcing of their communications operations in order to lower
their operating and capital costs. RCC is assisting in this area by
analyzing alternatives and providing technical staff to support
remote, and on site operations and maintenance of systems and
networks.
Wide Area Networks
RCC works with utility companies to design and specify fiber
optic networks. While these networks have been implemented
primarily to support SCADA, power relay and other internal
systems, additional revenue opportunities have been realized as
the utility and telecommunications industries become more
