Telecommunications Strategic Planning

RCC assists clients in the development of long-term telecommunications strategies which include technology planning, organizational and staffing issues, disaster planning and recovery, budgeting, funding, revenue generation and resale programs, outsourcing, partnering and related issues. Our staff is knowledgeable in all of the technological, business and regulatory factors affecting telecommunications users today.

Wide & Local Area Networking

RCC has significant experience in the design and implementation of wide and local area networks in support of data, voice and video applications. Wide area networks designed by RCC support academic and administrative applications, extending to on and off campus facilities including classrooms, administrative and business offices, libraries, research laboratories, housing and sports facilities. Technologies employed include SONET, ATM, Ethernet, Token Ring, Apple Talk and others.

Voice Telephone Systems

RCC has designed, specified and implemented voice telephone systems including all major premises-based (PBX) and network-based systems. In addition, RCC is experienced with voice processing and interactive voice response platforms, automatic call distribution/call center technologies and computer telephony integration applications.

Cable Infrastructure

RCC has designed, specified and managed the installation of campus cabling systems consisting of fiber optic and copper cable media. These systems include outside plant and in-building riser and horizontal cable subsystems. our projects frequently call upon staff to design cable pathways and spaces, including duct bank systems, conduit systems, cable tray, equipment rooms and telecommunications closets.

Radio & Wireless Systems

RCC is the premier firm in the design, engineering, specification and implementation of trunked and conventional radio systems. our radio engineers are knowledgeable in the latest technological and regulatory issues impacting the wireless communications industry today. Our leadership in wireless communications technologies also extends to PCS and cellular systems. We have extensive experience in the design of these systems, and have worked with carriers, real estate owners and governmental jurisdictions in the design and construction of free standing and roof-mounted radio towers. RCC has assisted property owners, including universities, in negotiating beneficial lease arrangements resulting in significant revenues to the property owners.

Public Safety & Security Systems

Security of students, staff and faculty is a paramount concern on college campuses today. RCC is a leader in the design of public safety communications systems. We have worked with clients across the country in the design and implementation of enhanced 911 systems and emergency dispatch centers. We are intimately familiar with the issues surrounding E-911 in campus environments, and have designed and specified systems that will transmit specific campus location data to E-911 Public Safety Answering Points while alerting campus security forces. Our expertise in security systems also includes the design of CCTV and access control systems and other wireline and wireless emergency communications systems.
