While not every position at RCC requires extensive travel, a willingness to travel is beneficial if you join the RCC family. Most travel is limited to short-term client site engagements. There are, however, opportunities to participate in multi-year engagements away from your home base.

Most of our engineers and consultants join the company having gained several years of engineering experience or operational experience in a related field. Typically, a senior consultant will join the company after completing from three to six years of related work experience. Someone joining at a managing consultant level or above will have completed seven to ten years of related work experience.

RCC does recruit and hire highly motivated and accomplished individuals directly from universities. Students with excellent academic credentials and who have demonstrated the attributes we desire can become part of the RCC team. We’re conducting a National search for someone to:

Provide consulting expertise for projects in the areas of Mobile Data Computer (MDC) and wireless infrastructure associated with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS) in a public safety environment. Manage and direct project-related tasks, billable activities, financial performance of projects and client satisfaction. Perform technical analyses, cost benefit analysis, and quality assurance efforts.

Develop proposal responses for qualified opportunities, as well as participate in oral and technical demonstrations and related new business activities.

Work from your home or one of our Regional Offices – We’re flexible!

Qualifications:

• Strong working knowledge of data systems in a public safety environment (CAD, Records, Mobile Data)
• Understanding of public safety operations
• Private RF/Wireless Data Network experience
• Knowledge of public carrier technology (2G, 2.5G, 3G and broadband technologies)
• Project Management experience
• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
• Knowledge of networking and telecommunications protocols

Education and/or Experience:

• BSEE or related technical discipline, or equivalent related experience
• 5 years experience in EE field, specifically mobile computing, RF Engineering, Digital Data Networks, Telecom
• Successful experience with project performance (financial, technical analysis, contract compliance, quality assurance)
• Previous Team Leadership in an Engineering role
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or similar certifications preferred but not required

Other Required Skills:

Strong reading, writing, typing, and speaking skills required.
Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project Management software, and other engineering tools such as Visio.
Ability to work independently, self-starter with superb time management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with all levels of personnel, clients, vendors.
Must be able to travel domestically approximately 50%.

Senior RF Engineer - Northeast Region
We’re looking for a Senior level, RF Engineer to join our team to support large, long-term projects and help us build our client base in the Northeast region.

The ideal candidate must have: 

  • BSEE or related technical discipline or equivalent related experience
  • More than 5 years experience in RF Engineering design of wireless networks
  • Experience with RF propagation tools (ComSite, Planet, Comstudy, Wizard) and Test equipment (spectrum analyzers, scanning receivers, etc.)
  • Good verbal communication and writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Successful ability to balance and manage expectations and demands from a multitude of concurrent projects
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 50%
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Other preferred skills and abilities:

  • Experience with Land Mobile Radio Systems and/or fixed point to point microwave systems
  • Design, Specification, Procurement, Implementation, Testing and Management of Private Mobile Radio Systems projects
  • Experience with cellular, paging, SMR wireless communications systems
  • PE, EIT, certifications
  • Public Safety, State and Local Gov’t Radio experience
  • Hands-on use of AutoCad
  • Knowledge of FCC regulatory guidelines, including 800 MHz rebanding and other licensing issues
  • In-building and Tunnel RF design experience

Wireless Systems Consultant – Northeast Region

The ideal candidate must have experience with antenna construction, installation, maintenance and repair required. Ability to respond and resolve interference and coverage issues. Knowledge of site acquisitions and construction preferred. Design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting experience with private mobile radio systems. Public Safety, state and/or local government radio experience is a must. Successful candidates will be detail oriented and self-motivated. Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills are required. Experience with paging, SMR or other wireless trunked radio and wireless communications systems preferred

Senior Consultant – Southeast Region

The ideal candidate must have:

  • BSEE or related technical discipline or equivalent related experience.
  • 5-10 years experience in the Electrical Engineering field, specifically RF Engineering, Trunked/Conventional VHF, UHF and 700/800 MHz. Public Safety Radio Systems, Microwave Subsytems &Communications Tower Sites.
  • Strong background in Motorola and M/A-COM trunked LMR systems
  • Previous employment with major public safety radio manufacture is highly desirable.
  • Good verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project Management software, RF Propagation Prediction software.
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 50%.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
